Part of being an automobile owner is keeping a regular maintenance schedule for vehicle components such as tires, belts and other parts that deteriorate over time, plus keeping the fluids at the proper levels. But how often and when should these maintenance checks take place?

Your owner's manual will have the recommended schedules that should be conducted every so many miles for things like changing the oil, but many basic maintenance tasks can be done at any time. The spring is a good time for these types of checks, as it is time to clean and spruce up the vehicle anyway. Check the belts, chains and hoses for cracks, clean the battery, change the oil and flush and refill the radiator, check the tires and perform any other maintenance that is needed.

If you are unsure of what types of things to check for or need a certified technician to do the work, bring your vehicle in to our service center at Eagle Volvo in Riverhead, NY, and we will provide any auto services you may need.
